Tucked securely off of Desoto Parkway, our scenic drive is about one-half mile past the entrance to the famous Desoto Falls and about three miles from the Desoto State Park entrance. We are surrounded by privately owned beautiful woodlands. Little River, which borders the Riverview campus, is a gently flowing waterway that is classified as an Outstanding National Resource Waterway. But, please…don’t just imagine. Take I-59 north to Exit #231 (Valley Head, Hammondville Exit). Turn right onto Hwy. 117. Go ½ mile to stop sign. At stop sign (there is a caution light) turn right, go 100 yards then turn left, still on Hwy 117 (another caution light here.)
Bus Route: Follow 117 through Valley Head up the mountain to Mentone, Al. In Mentone at the blinking yellow light turn right on County Road 89, pass by St. Joseph’s Church. Go 3 miles to 4-way stop. Continue straight for ¼ mile to Riverview sign. Turn left at sign onto County Road 614. Camp is 1 mile on left.
Scenic short-cut Car Route: (NOT for Buses!) Follow Hwy 117 through Valley Head and about 1/2 way up the mountain. Take a sharp right onto Tutwiler Gap Road. You will see our Riverview sign here. At the top of this scenic road there is a Y. Keep right, turn onto County Road 89 and yield to traffic from the left. Continue straight for 1/2 mile to Riverview entrance sign on the left. Turn left at sign onto County Road 614. Campus is 1 mile on left.
Drive time 2 1/2 hours from Nashville take I-24 E from Nashville to I-59 S. Follow I-59 S to Exit 231 (Valley Head, Hammondville Exit. Take Hwy 72 to Hwy 35 Scottsboro/Ft. Payne Exit. Turn Right off exit ramp. Go 4.1 miles, just past the Tennessee River Bridge turn left onto AL Hwy 40 BEFORE going up the mountain. Continue on Hwy 40 for 24 miles to Hammondville, AL (you will pass through one 4-way stop in the Pleasant View Community and one traffic light in Henagar, AL, go down the mountain, then cross I-59 just before reaching the stop sign at the end of the road). At stop sign (there is a caution light here) turn right and then make a quick left turn onto Hwy #117 (another caution light here.)

Driving time is 2 hours. Take I-75 North to Adairsville exit # 306. Turn left off the ramp towards Adairsville. Continue on Hwy. 140 about 15 miles to a stop sign. Turn right onto Hwy. 27 North to Summerville, GA. In Summerville go through one traffic light, over the RR tracks and turn left in the curve onto Hwy. 48 to Menlo. In Menlo at 4 way stop continue going straight on Hwy 48 up the mountain. From top of the mountain Mentone is about 11 miles away. During this 11miles you will cross from GA to AL. At the AL State line Hwy 48 then becomes Hwy # 117. At blinking light in Mentone, turn left on County Rd 89, passing St. Joseph’s Church. Go 2 miles to 4-way stop sign. Continue straight for 1/2 mile to Riverview entrance sign. Turn left at sign. Campus is l mile on the left.
